Announcing the 25th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference - Join us in Miami, FL, in May 2009!
The aim of this conference is to bring together researchers, clinicians, students, and industry leaders to discuss current ideas and concepts in biomedical research. The 2009 Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference will be held May 15-17, 2009 in Miami, Florida. The program will include keynote lectures, presentations in diverse areas of biotechnology, and student competitions.
The conference website is http://bme.fiu.edu/SBEC2009
Even though this was primarily designed as a regional conference, we have received abstracts from different regions of the US and around the world. The total number of abstracts received was over 170. Topics span many interesting research areas, including Biomechanics, Bio and Nanomaterials, Tissue Engineering, Drug Delivery, Bioimaging and Optics, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation and Kinematics, Bioinstrumentation, Biosignals, and Biosensors. An important incentive of the Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference is that it is not as large as many of the international meetings. This facilitates contacts between students and prominent biomedical engineers from many diverse fields, as well as interactions among fellow researchers. These interactions are key to the field's continued development and advancement, and they provide an excellent platform for networking and exchanging ideas.
The early registration deadline is fast approaching! The last day to register with reduced fees is March 31, 2009. The registration form is available at: http://bme.fiu.edu/SBEC2009/pdf/25_SBEC_conf_registration_form_FIU.pdf
