    The Rehabilitation Research & Development (RR&D) Center of Excellence
    for Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering at the VA Puget
    Sound Health Care System in Seattle, WA has a position available for
    a research engineer. This position is available immediately and will
    remain open until a suitable candidate has been found. The
    successful candidate will be involved primarily in two projects, but
    will have room to expand his or her involvement in other research
    areas related to the Center’s overall mission. The main
    responsibilities are: 1) to supervise the day-to-day activities of a
    research project quantifying pre- and post-surgical differences
    between ankle arthroplasty and ankle arthrodesis patients via a multi-
    segment kinematic foot model and 2) to maintain and continue to
    develop our robotic gait simulator for use with cadaveric feet and
    lower limb prosthetic components.

    Preferred technical competencies include the following: 1) experience
    with motion analysis data acquisition and analysis, 2) calibration
    and routine maintenance of instrumentation (force plates, pressure
    plates, load cells, etc.) and 3) familiarity with LabView.
    Furthermore, strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.

    This position requires a Masters (preferred) or Bachelors degree
    (with several years experience) in Mechanical Engineering,
    Bioengineering, or other biomechanics related field, as well as
    knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of
    biomechanics.

    This position is only open to US citizens.
