  • Bone piezoelectric properties

    Dear Biomch-L Community:

One of my colleagues recently asked me the following regarding bone and piezoelectric properties:

    *************************************************
Do you have any information regarding piezoelectric nature of Bone and any clues as to how one might have measured it? One of our bioinstrumentation class undergrads wants to measure piezo charge on a bone sample as it is cycled in axial compression in Instron.
    *************************************************

Any advice or commentary would be very much appreciated. I will summarize and post responses.

    Warmest regards,
    Adam Bartsch
