The Footwear Biomechanics Group, a technical group of the International
Society of Biomechanics, would like to invite you to attend the IX
Footwear Biomechanics Symposium, in Stellenbosch on July 10 - 12, 2009.
Registration is now available online. Early registration fees apply till

The symposium will offer invited keynotes by Dr. Peter Cavanagh, Dr.
Benno Nigg, and Dr. Martyn Shorten. Additional highlights also include
an invited Soccer Footwear session organized by Thorsten Sterzing to
coincide with the upcoming World Cup in South Africa. Also, to celebrate
his retirement, Bart van Gheluwe has agreed to give a personal overview
on "Foot Biomechanics and Podiatry: Research Meets the Clinical World".
There will be more than 60 oral and poster presentations in the
symposium on a range of topics:
- fit
- pressure distribution
- running
- comfort
- gait
- impact
- stability
- etc.
