We are pleased to announce that the 7th Australasian Biomechanics
Conference (ABC7) will be held at Griffith University - Gold Coast campus
from Monday 30th of November to Tuesday 1st of December, 2009.
The ABC conferences are the official conferences of the Australia and New
Zealand Society of Biomechanics (ANZSB) and are an ideal forum for
biomechanics researchers at all stages of their careers to present and
discuss their research.
The conference program will include keynote and invited presentations from
leading national and international researchers, as well as free podium and
poster sessions. The President of the International Society of
Biomechanics, Professor Walter Herzog will deliver one of the keynote
addresses.
We are also proud to announce two new initiatives:
1. Authors of selected award winning abstracts will be invited to submit
full papers for publication in the Journal of Applied Biomechanics (
http://www.humankinetics.com/jab/journalAbout.cfm).
2. An optional workshop will be held on the use of OpenSim (
https://simtk.org/home/opensim) for musculoskeletal modelling. Both novice
and advanced sessions will be offered and will be delivered by a team of
experts including members of the OpenSim development team from Stanford
University, USA. This workshop has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday
