  • Bioengineering09, Oxford, 24-25 September

    Dear Colleagues,

The Organising Committee of Bioengineering 09, the Institute of
Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Engineering
Science, University of Oxford, are very happy to invite you
to participate in Bioengineering 09, the second conference and
exhibition of the Society of Bioengineering.

    The conference website, http://www.bioengineering09.net, carries
all the necessary information, along with important dates.

The meeting is to be held on September 24th-25th 2009 in Oxford,
in Keble College. Each day will open with an internationally
renowned plenary speaker. For the rest of the time, the meeting will
split into parallel themes. In these sessions, important and topical
aspects of bioengineering will be explored in detail. A combination
of keynote lectures, invited talks and presentations selected
from submitted abstracts will form these parallel sessions.
The agenda will be supplemented with a posters competition,
an industrial exhibition and a new bioengineering faculty event.

The meeting will emphasise exciting research advances, explore
future challenges and accentuate the importance of interdisciplinary
problem-solving. We welcome all researchers interested in
cross-disciplinary research who work on biologically and clinically
inspired problems. Delegates and speakers will come from
bioengineering and biomedical engineering departments, physical
science departments, engineering departments and clinical faculties.
We are particularly keen to encourage the participation of students
and young researchers. Special provisions will be made to enable
    such involvement.

If you know of colleagues who may be interested in this event,
it would be great if you could forward this email to them.

We look forward to welcoming you in Oxford in September.

On behalf of the Organising Committee,

    Mark Thompson
