The deadline for submission of papers for the 27th International Conference on Biomechanics in Sport is now passed; there were over 340 papers submitted – in conjunction with the already planned keynote lectures and applied sessions (including a large session on swimming – see isbs2009.com for more info) it has the ingredients for a fantastic conference.
The review process is now complete (thanks to the scientific committee) and all authors have been informed whether their papers have been accepted and in what format. We are awaiting the resubmissions of these papers and can provide a final decision on receipt (resubmission instructions were sent via a separate e-mail to the lead author).
We are also delighted to announce a Postgraduate Scholarship Awards; the scholarship covers 50% of the on-campus accommodation costs for 5 nights during the conference (valued at approximately €150). We are now inviting submissions for these scholarships via e-mail to pg@isbs2009.com; the e-mail should include your current research area and justifications for the award (the e-mail is strictly limited to 200 words maximum). The closing dates for applications is below, the award winners will be notified on 13th July 2009. To qualify you must be an officially registered postgraduate student on August 21st 2009 and be lead author on at least one paper (proof of status will be required).
Important dates to note are –

- Final decisions on acceptance of papers – 16th June 2009 10.00 BST
- Early registration deadline – 16th June 2009 23.59 BST
- Closing date for Postgraduate Scholarship Award – 29th June 2009 23.59 BST
We are in the process of creating the provisional schedule and are due to complete this by the 26th June 2009 – this will then be published on isbs2009.com.
