    Locum Biomechanics and Gait Laboratory Manager (position description 12
    June 2009)

    Commencing on or after 1 July 2009 for up to a maximum of 12 months

    Position Title: Biomechanics and Gait Laboratory Manager (Locum)

    Level: Level 5 or 6

    School: School of Risk and Safety Sciences

    Faculty: Science

    Supervisor: A/Prof. Andrew McIntosh, School of Risk and Safety
    Sciences.

    A locum position is available for a suitably qualified person. The
    purposes of the position are to (1) manage the biomechanics laboratory;
    (2) support research activities in biomechanics and ergonomics under the
    supervision of A/Prof McIntosh; (3) support teaching in the laboratory;
    and (4) assist in undertaking biomechanical analyses of gait.

    The minimum education required is a Bachelors Degree in relevant
    discipline, eg. Engineering / Biomedical Engineering / Science

    The selection criteria are:

    Essential

    1) Bachelors degree in a related discipline, eg. physical
    science or engineering.

    2) Good communication skills - oral and written.

    3) Experience and knowledge of biomechanics

    4) Experience and knowledge of methods to analyse human movement
    using quantitative three dimensional motion analysis.

    5) Experience with the maintenance and operation of
    instrumentation in biomechanics research

    6) Knowledge of EEO and AA policy

    Desirable Requirements

    1. Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent

    2. Competency in Matlab and Windows based applications

    3. Knowledge and enthusiasm for working with people with
    movement impairments

    4. Ability to work in a team
