Research Fellow Grade 7 (fixed term 27 months)
£29,704 - £35,469
An opportunity has arisen for a research fellow to work within the
partnership between the University of Salford and SSL International Ltd.
The successful candidate will be trained in a discipline related to foot
health and ideally a registered health professional. They have existing
research experience with a PhD or equivalent experience. They will be able
to demonstrate prior experience of both experimental biomechanics research
(for example, motion analysis, EMG, foot pressure) and clinical research
relevant to insoles, footwear or other aspects of foot care. They will have
an understanding of clinical biomechanics as it applied to the foot and
lower limb and demonstrate knowledge on a range of foot and lower limb
health and disease topics. They will have experience of dealing with
patients and members of the public participating in research.
Specific duties include:
* To undertake biomechanics and clinical research projects related to lower
limb clinical biomechanics.
* To help conceive and then to plan and deliver experimental research
projects related to the aims of the partnership with SSL International.
* To work within the project timescales and agreed work plans.
* To collect, process and interpret biomechanics and clinical data relevant
to the aims of the research projects within the partnership with SSL
International.
* To ensure that research is conducted to appropriate ethical and governance
standards as defined by the University.
* To liaise with other Research Fellows and academic staff employed in the
project in a manner such that there is collective support for all aspects of
the partnership.
* To report on technical research issues to a grade 8 Research Fellow.
* Where necessary, to present the technical research work of the University
to other University staff/students and potentially the external partner.
