  • Doctoral Position

    There is a position available to start in September to obtain a four-year funded Ph.D. in Applied Health Sciences in the area of Electromyographic Kinesiology. Research topics may include but are not limited to:

    1. The relationship between indwelling muscle activity and the surface electromyogram (sEMG).
    2. Modelling sEMG and signal processing.
    3. Changes in neuromuscular function as assessed using H-reflex and muscle fiber conduction velocity methodologies.
    4. Training-related changes in muscle activity.

    Candidates must have an M.Sc. with course-work in biomechanics, computer programming, and experience with MATLAB. The required GPA is 75 or higher. A portion of the financial package will be derived through teaching assistantships in biomechanics and research on funded projects. Applicants are sought from the U.S. and Canada with priority given to Canadian Citizens and Landed Immegrants.
