Associate Chair of Clinical Practice

The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences (DPTHMS),
Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine invites applications for
a new full-time, 12 month appointment in a non-tenure track position as
Associate Chair in the area of Clinical Practice. Applicants must be
physical therapists with a masters or doctoral academic degree in a related
discipline and experience in clinical leadership. This position is offered
at the Assistant Professor level. Salary is negotiable.
Responsibilities of this position will be to:
create clinical practice opportunities through visionary
leadership and innovative thinking that complement the research and
education components of DPTHMS
realize creative solutions for integrating an academic faculty
practice with high-level education opportunities for doctoral physical
therapy students
collaborate or lead in the development of credentialed physical
therapy residencies and fellowships
teach in related content areas in the DPT curriculum
The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership experience in inpatient and
outpatient physical therapy clinical practice and have the ability to
recruit talented clinicians. References should demonstrate the ability to
build collaborative relationships among parties with different backgrounds
and goals. Illinois state physical therapy licensure or eligibility is
required.
The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences is a part of
the vibrant educational and cultural community of Northwestern University

teaching, research and clinical experiences within the McGaw Medical Center,
which includes the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern
Memorial Hospital and Children's Memorial Medical Center. This position

fostering clinical physical therapy practice collaborations within these
institutions.
