Post-Doctoral Fellow or Research Associate
position in the area of
Biomechanical Characterization of Cartilage Tissue-Engineering Constructs and Repair Tissue
The position is being offered for two years with the option for a performance based extension. The salary is commensurate with the qualification of the applicant (TV-L). Applicants are expected to have an advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent). We are looking for a highly qualified, motivated and creative individual who is willing to work in a multidisciplinary scientific research environment, and who can document their ability to work independently.

The applicant will be expected to:
- Manage a "Biomechanics of Tissue-Engineering Constructs" Team. Duties will include advising medical, veterinary-medical, as well as engineering students.
- Independently plan and supervise scientific studies involving the histological and biomechanical characterization of different cartilage-replacement constructs and cartilage repair tissue.
- Standardize and further develop techniques for testing different types of soft-tissue (musculoskeletal as well as cardiovascular).
- Analyze and statistically evaluate data and to prepare manuscripts. Results may be published nationally and also internationally
The following requirements should be fulfilled:
- A university-degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, materials-science or other similar discipline.
- Experience in the appropriate areas in the form of a thesis, dissertation, independent project and or scientific publication.
- A systematic, analytical and goal-oriented approach, as well as the desire to accept responsibility and acquire new skills and qualifications.
- Good written and spoken communications skills.
- Good team skills as well as the ability to work proactively, independently and creatively.
- Spoken and written fluency in at least German or English. The willingness to attain German fluency.
