Senior Lecturer in Sports and Exercise Biomechanics - University of Chichester, UK.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed academic with expertise in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics to compliment the skills of an active Biomechanics research group. The post holder would be expected to contribute to modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and enhance the rich tradition of research in these areas at the University of Chichester.

The laboratory at Chichester is well equipped with Kistler force platforms (x3), 8 channel telemetry EMG (MIE), 6 camera 3D motion capture system (ViconPeak), high-speed video cameras, in-sole and plate pressure measurement systems, and notational analysis suite. Data analysis is conducted between Peak/Labview/Excel packages.

You will have a sound knowledge and research profile in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics, and can demonstrate strong laboratory and analytical skills. Alternatively you will have a strong applied/consultancy biomechanics portfolio. An ability to contribute to the delivery of the curriculum in sports coaching sciences and/or other areas in sport and exercise would be advantageous. A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (sport and exercise science, human movement science) is essential. Applications from individuals in the early stages of their academic career (for example, those at or near completion of their PhD) and from more experienced academics are welcomed, with the successful applicant to be appointed at a level on the salary scale commensurate with their experience.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Dr Neal Smith, Acting Field Leader in Sport & Exercise Biomechanics, Faculty of Sport, Education and Social Sciences, on 01243 816295 or e-mail N.Smith@chi.ac.uk.
