The Biological Materials and Systems Technical Division of the Society for
Experimental Mechanics (SEM) invites you to submit an abstract for a series
of sessions to held at the 2010 Society for Experimental Mechanics
Conference and Exposition to be held June 7-9, 2010, in Indianapolis, IN.
Papers dealing with investigations or techniques within this area are sought
for the following sessions:
• Advanced imaging and identification techniques for mechanical testing of
biological tissues
• Mechanics of Hard Tissues (Dental and Orthopedic)
• Mechanics of Soft Connective Tissues
• Small scale biomechanics and single cell/molecule testing
• BioMEMS and bionanotechnology
• Biological and bio-inspired composites
Please note that the abstracts are particularly encouraged for the first
topic above, which is part of a special Track focused on the “Application of
Imaging Techniques to Mechanics of Materials and Structures.”
It is our hope that this area will be of interest to the traditional
mechanics and material community as well as the biological and medical
community.
Please submit your abstract of 200 words or less online at www.sem.org
by the deadline of October 16, 2009.
We look forward to seeing you in Indianapolis next summer!
