The School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia has active and highly successful research streams in occupational biomechanics and physiology as well as applied sport science research in team and individual sports. We are actively perusing high quality research students for our MSc and PhD programs. The areas students may be interested in include:
* Musculoskeletal injury management, rehabilitation and prevention in physically demanding occupations such as fire fighters, combat pilots and military personnel
* Fit-for-duty testing and training in the aforementioned populations
* Use of wearable technologies in sport
* Injury management and performance optimisation in classical and contemporary dance
To facilitate the research work, the School has an extensive inventory of equipment including in-ground and portable force plates, isokinetic dynamometers, portable wireless EMG and ECG, a comprehensive strength testing and training laboratory, climate chamber, multiple metabolic carts and 24 camera high speed motion analysis laboratory.
Suitable candidates are also afforded research scholarships through centralised schemes [http://www.deakin.edu.au/research/admin/scholarships/]
For more information, please see the School's website [http://www.deakin.edu.au/hmnbs/ens/] or contact Dr Kevin Netto [kevin.netto@deakin.edu.au]
