    Post Doctoral Researcher in Wearable Sensing in Sport & Health

    A position for a post doctoral researcher in wearable sensing in Sport &
    Health is available in the CLARITY Centre for Sensor Web Technologies.

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual to joint a multidisciplinary
    team who are working on a range of studies concerned with using sensor
    technologies to solve biomechanical and physiological measurement issues in
    an ambulatory setting in sport and health applications.

    Current sample projects in the area include:
    * Development and validation of therapeutic exergaming applications
    in rehabilitation medicine
    * Implementation of multimodal real-time sensing and feedback in
    Tennis & Field Hockey

    The CLARITY CSET http://www.clarity-centre.com/ is a partnership between
    University College Dublin and Dublin City University, supported by research
    at the Tyndall National Institute (TNI) Cork. CLARITY is a collaboration
    between a number of specialist teams across the institutions who have
    already strong track records in sensor technology. It builds on work
    undertaken by the SFI-funded Adaptive Information Cluster, and is led by a
    team of Principal Investigators with expertise in computing science and
    informatics, engineering, biomechanics and exercise physiology. The Clarity
    Centre is located in the School of Computer Science and Informatics,
    University College Dublin (UCD) in Dublin, Ireland. UCD has over 22,000
    students including 2,500 international students from over 80 countries and
    is situated on a large modern campus 4 km to the south of the centre of
    Dublin.

    Qualifications and Experience:
    The successful candidate will preferably have a doctoral degree in the field
    of physiotherapy, athletic training, biomechanics or sport & exercise
    science and experience in implementation and validation of wireless
    biomechanical or physiological sensing technologies in health or sport. .
    Experience in design and execution of clinical or field studies is also
    desirable.

    Job particulars:
    We would like to fill this position as early as possible and are willing to
    negotiate a suitable start date for the right candidate. The duration of
    the contract will be 12 months and we can offer a competitive salary with
    benefits. The post will be located in University College Dublin but the
    successful candidate may have to spend a considerable portion of their time
    in Dublin City University as well due to the collaborative nature of the
    research activities associated with the position.
