Term: Nine-Month Tenure Track Appointment with Possibility of Summer School
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Starting Date: July 1, 2010
Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate with emphasis in areas of neuromechanics such as
biomechanics, neuromuscular control, neuropsychology, neuroanatomy, and
neuroimaging.
Demonstrated record of research publication in sport related concussion or
neurotrauma.
Collegiate-level teaching experience in areas of neuromechanics, research
design and statistics, and/or related exercise and sport science areas.
Record of involvement in internally and/or externally funded grants;
fundable research interests.
Demonstrated ability and interest in advising undergraduate and graduate
research projects.
Responsibilities:
Teach courses in areas of neuromechanics, anatomy, research design and
statistics depending on experience.
Experience and interest to conduct independent research in area of
sport-related concussion and neurotrauma.
Contribute to current research in the area of biomechanics and neuroimaging
of sport-related head injury; symptomatology, neuropsychological and balance
testing following concussion; education and awareness for concussion
prevention; and long-term consequences of sport-related concussion.
Pursue grant funding individually and as part of a research team.
Serve as an advisor for undergraduate honors theses, masters theses and
doctoral dissertation research.
Participate collegially in departmental and university service and
governance functions.
Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chair of the
department.
