The Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety (LMRIS) in Hopkinton, MA is seeking an experienced researcher to join the Center for Physical Ergonomics. The mission of the Center is to investigate the causes and mechanisms of workplace injuries and illnesses with an emphasis on musculoskeletal disorders. We are an internally funded research Institute, and are committed to a high quality of scientific work, and disseminating all our findings in peer-reviewed scientific publications.
This researcher will develop, direct, and implement studies within core area areas such as manual handling, slips, trips and falls, and repetitive motion injuries. The successful candidate is expected to have experimental research experience with an in-depth knowledge of surface EMG, motor control and biomechanics modeling. A special interest in shoulder disorders and shoulder loading in the workplace would be an advantage.

The Institute staff represents the fields of biomechanics, experimental and cognitive psychology, epidemiology, tribology, physiology, engineering, sociology, biostatics and the clinical sciences. We have active collaborations with Harvard University, The University of Massachusetts, and other international leaders in our fields of interest.
