  • A surgical step stool on a force plate

    Dear all.

I have an on-going ergonomic study in minimally invasive
surgery. Laparoscopic surgeons perform surgical procedures while standing
on a force plate in an operating room. One of surgeon is relative shorter
than others and she uses a surgical step stool like this (
    http://www.medicus-health.com/surgical-step-stools-stacking-and-interlocking.aspx)
during the case. I can still reset my force plate with this step stool on
my force plate but am not sure whether I would get the same data which I
would get without a step stool. I would appreciate any suggestions or
comments on this. I am using a single force plate and all four legs of the
surgical step stool can be on the force plate. Thanks.

    Sincerely,

    Gyusung Lee, Ph.D.
