Moss Rehabilitation Research
Institute, internationally known for its research in cognitive neuroscience and
cognitive rehabilitation, is launching a new program area in movement science/
mobility rehabilitation with the intention to fill approximately 4 Institute
Scientist positions over the next 6 years. We now seek a clinical scientist to assist with
building the program and recruiting other investigators. Applicants should have a background in movement
science and experience in translational research, particularly as applied to
neurologic populations. A background in neuroplasticity as affected by
intensive practice and/or as modulated by pharmacologic agents or electrical
stimulation is desirable. The ideal candidate is a mid-career scientist
(Physical Therapy, Physiatry, Neurology, Kinesiology, or related) with a track
record of extramural funding and a desire to apply the latest research tools to
the development of innovative treatment protocols.
This full-time research
position offers numerous opportunities for collaboration with other MRRI
investigators and skilled MossRehab clinicians, and with colleagues in
cognitive neuroscience at the University
of Pennsylvania,
including those involved in structural and functional neuroimaging, TMS, and
tDCS. Office and laboratory space are available in a newly renovated research
building, with ready access to relevant patient populations. The appropriate
candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of this new
program area.
