  • Underwater motion analysis

    Dear colleagues:

I am currently running a project to evaluate the starting & turning techniques
of the swimmers of the Korean national swimming team, especially for back strok
    e. I'd like to collect information in two areas:

    1. Underwater motion analysis: Those who have tried underwater motion analysis
for not only the swimming-related movements but also any other underwater
activities are cordially asked to share your valuable experience with me. Any
type of information will be welcome such as experimental setting, real-life
coordinate computation method, accuracy, problems and so on. I am aware that
US swimming group have performed underwater analysis using DLT method.

    2. Actual data for comparison: I'd like to obtain actual data for comprison
purpose. Any type of data such as temporal and spatial data of the subphases
of starting and turning motion will be very helpful to evaluate the performance
of the Korean swimmers. Data from the elite swimmers are preferred.

I am sure that there are many people who are interested in the underwater
motion analysis. I'll post the summary on the net.

Please send any comments, references and data to the following address:
