  • SCASB call for proposals

    You are encouraged to submit papers for presentation at the 2010
    regional meeting of the South Central American Society of Biomechanics
    (SCASB). The theme of the conference is "Theory and Application in Life
    and Sport" and abstracts from all areas of biomechanics will be
    considered. This conference is designed to be student-friendly, and
    students are encouraged to submit their work for presentation. The
    abstract submission deadline is January 15th, 2010. The conference will
    take place at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX, February 11-13,

    There will be excellent opportunities for networking and professional
    development. Speakers for the conference include:

    Dr. Blaise Williams is an Associate Professor and Director of the RACE
    Laboratory at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. His research
    has included lower extremity injury and diabetic neuropathies. With his
    focus on clinical research, Dr. Williams will provide a good perspective
    of clinical biomechanics.

    Dr. Duane Knudson is a Professor and department chair for the Health,
    Physical Education and Recreation Department at Texas State University
    in San Marcos, Texas. Dr. Knudson's research areas include sport
    biomechanics, technology and measurement, and statistical analysis. Dr.
    Knudson will be speaking on sport biomechanics and will offer an applied
    topic area providing students will the sport applications of

    Dr. Stuart Warden, PT, PhD, FACSM is an Assistant Professor in Physical
    Therapy at Indiana University Health and Rehabilitation Sciences
    Department with IU School of Medicine. Since 2000, Dr. Warden has
    published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, and his tutorial will aid
    students in writing abstracts, manuscripts, theses, dissertations, and
    grant proposals. Dr. Wardens tutorial will be very beneficial to
    students and faculty alike.
