Post-Doctoral Fellow / Research Faculty Position, Computational Biomechanics
    Lab, University of Denver

An opening is available for a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of
Denver in the area of computational biomechanics.  Current research
interests include probabilistic, forward-dynamic finite element modeling of
natural and implanted knees.  Qualified candidates may also be considered
for Research Faculty appointment within the Department of Mechanical and
Materials Engineering.  The successful candidate will be expected to lead
and conduct advanced research projects, and interface on these projects with
industry, graduate students, and other faculty. Excellent post-doctoral
salary available, including benefits.   Starting date negotiable.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
+  PhD degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering.
+  Knowledge of finite element analysis and proficiency with commercial FEA
codes.  Must possess demonstrated skill with advanced applications of FEA.
Experience with custom code development and/or custom scripting of
    commercial FEA packages preferred.
+  Proficiency with programming languages (C, C++, Python).
+  Proficiency with multi-body dynamics simulation, nonlinear constrained
optimization techniques, and/or probabilistic FE methods, would be
    considered advantageous.
+  Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills
    required.

The University of Denver (www.du.edu) was founded in 1864 and is the oldest
private university in the Rocky Mountain region.  The Department of
Mechanical and Materials Engineering offers graduate degrees in Mechanical
Engineering and Bioengineering.  In addition to educational opportunities,
DU’s location in Denver offers a wide range of cultural and outdoor
activities.  The University of Denver is an AA/EOE (Affirmative Action,
    Equal Opportunity Employer).

To apply, please send a copy of your CV, preferably by e-mail. Review of
applications will continue until the position is filled.
