  • IUTAM seminar: Analysis and simulation of human motion -September 13th - 15th, 2010, Leuven (Belgium)

We are organizing an exciting multidisciplinary research program 'Analysis
and simulation of human motion', in Leuven (Belgium) on September 13th -
15th, 2010. This symposium is sponsored by IUTAM (International Union of
    Theoretical and applied Mechanics).

The program presents keynotes and invited lecturers covering aspects ranging
from MOTION ANALYSIS, PERSONALIZED MUSCULOSKELETAL MODELING, GRAPHICAL
    MODELING, SIMULATION AND OUTCOME PREDICTION.

A preliminary program is announced at
    http://www.mech.kuleuven.be/iutam2010/.

    We defined 6 thematic sessions:

(Session 1) Measurement methods and protocols for motion analysis - Chair:
    Prof. Leardini

(Session 2) Personalized musculoskeletal modeling - Chair: Prof. Viceconti

(Session 3) Personalized musculoskeletal modeling - Chair: Prof. Vander Helm

(Session 4) Graphical Modeling - Chair: Prof. Badler

(Session 5) Simulation methods of Motion, control - Chair: Prof. Pandy

(Session 6) Use of modeling and simulation for analysis of motion and
outcome prediction - Chair: Prof. Jonkers.

Each session consists of 1 key note lecture by the chair as well as 4
invited lectures by invited experts in the field. Currently confirmed
speakers are Andrew Amis, Scott Banks, Ronan Boulic, Kaat Desloovere, Mark
de Zee, Margit Gfoehler, Richie Gill, Markus Heller, Jill Higginson, Lief
Kobbelt, Taku Komura, Saulo Martelli, Vincenzo Parenti-Castelli, Bill
Taylor, Catherine Pelachaud, Lennart Scheys, Sandra Sheffelbine, Fulvia
Taddei, Amy Zavatsky, . and more will confirm the coming weeks.

We invite you to participate in the meeting and contribute your own work to
    our commented poster session.

As participation to this symposium is by invitation only and the number of
participants is limited to 100 persons, we invite you to notify us ASAP of
    your interest.

Please see the conference website for more details
    (http://www.mech.kuleuven.be/iutam2010/) or contact us through
    iutam@mech.kuleuven.be.

We look forward to seeing you in Leuven!

    Sincerely,

    Jos Vander Sloten
