a step in human walking is defined as the sequence of events between
contact of one foot and the next contact of the other foot. for
instance, a step could start at touch-down of the right foot and end
at touch-down of the left foot. in literature, that would often be
referred to as a ~left~ step. how come? I start my ~left~ contact
with a ~left~ touch-down, my ~left~ gait cycle with a ~left~
touch-down, so why would I start my ~left~ step with a ~right~
touch-down. why would a step be defined where the leg is mostly
swinging?
comments are much appreciated.
thanks and have a great day,
