Applications are invited for 2 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships in Ergonomics and Occupational Biomechanics to be carried out at the Mawson Institute, University of South Australia in Adelaide.
Both 3 year positions are funded through an AutoCRC (http://www.autocrc.com/about-autocrc.htm) and South Australia State Government Grant (http://www.southaustralia.biz/About-DTED.aspx) to further develop Human Models for Ergonomic and Automotive Engineering purposes with a Product Ergonomics perspective.

Research will be carried out at the Ergolab which has state-of-art equipment including a 12- camera Vicon motion capture system, AMTI HF force plates, Noraxon DTS wireless 16 Channel Physiologger, 7 DOF Faro arm, Jack 6, Anybody 4.1, Visual 3D, Siemens NX, Ansys, image processing software and the computing facilities required for real time processing. Part of the research will also be carried out at industrial partner sites.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a doctorate degree in Ergonomics, Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Health Sciences or similar.
The projects are part of a larger effort to enhance the applicability of musculoskeletal simulation in Ergonomics, with as focus for the models to predict posture and movement.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants are expected to have profound mathematical and computational skills.
Candidates with a PhD or equivalent in Biomechanics or Mechanical Engineering, Physiology, or other related fields are encouraged to apply. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and highly competitive.
Preferred starting date: Apr 1st (or later depending on VISA status) 2010
