the area of human performance analysis and enhancement in sports.

The candidate should possess experiences connecting to the sub-disciplines of
sport psychology and movement science. Possible themes in research could be
directed towards expertise in high level sports, or motor learning, or
attention and perception, or basic neurological principles of moving and
    learning.

The successful candidate will have a clear empirical-analytical orientation,
especially in experiment-oriented research and the use of advanced statistical
methods. Teaching obligations will be 9 hours per week.

A doctoral degree in a relevant area for this professorship (cp. HFG NRW, §
36), preferably in the area of sport science, is required. Other requirements
include a strong record in research, a visible international orientation,
publications in international peer reviewed academic journals, successful
grant applications (particularly from the German Research Foundation (DFG))
and teaching and administrative experience at the university level.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strong independent
research program with interdisciplinary collaborations in particular with the
department of sport psychology as well as the department of movement science
that merit extramura funding and publishing in high-impact scholarly journals.
Courses of studies are offered in the area of teacher programs at the Institute
of Sport Science. Experience in teaching students pursuing a Bachelor or
    Master of Education is preferred.

Applications of women are specially invited. In the case of similar
qualification, competence and specific achievements, women will be considered on
preferential terms within the framework of legal possibilities. Handicapped
candidates with equivalent qualifications will be given preference.
Applications should be received before March 12th, 2010 to receive full
consideration; review of applications will follow in 2010.

To apply, send a CV, a cover letter describing research and teaching
interests, and three sample publications (only journal papers) via postal
services to the Dean of the faculty:
