Lecturer of Anatomy & Physiology
Ten-month fixed-term appointment (multi-year, renewable)

Berks is a small college (student population 2,900) within the Penn

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach anatomy (BIOL 129), physiology (BIOL
141 & 142), and anatomy of movement for kinesiology majors (KINES 202).
Each of these courses has both a lecture and laboratory component. The
candidate is responsible for staffing additional sections of lecture and
laboratory for these courses as necessary. The candidate will also
oversee a cadaver laboratory that enrolls select upper-level students in
independent dissection. The successful candidate will be a team-player
willing to work together to ensure the highest quality education for
Berks’ students. Service to the college, the community, and the
profession is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An advanced degree in a health-related field is required, although a
terminal degree is preferred, e.g., PhD in appropriate discipline, MD,
DC, DMD, VMD, DPT. A commitment to undergraduate teaching is expected.
Experience teaching anatomy and physiology is a plus as well as
experience with cadaver dissection. The candidate must support the
College’s mission of enhancing undergraduate learning through engagement
while encouraging individual growth, cultural awareness,
ethical-decision making, and civic responsibility. Enthusiasm for
learning and a willingness to continually develop as a teacher are
critical qualifications. Salary is competitive.
