  • UK and Ireland Conference on Functional Electrical Stimulation -Conference programme announced

    UKRI-IFESS 2010, April 15th and 16th 2010 - Conference Programme
    announced!

The programme for the 1st Annual Conference of the UK and Ireland
National Chapter of International Functional Electrical Stimulation
Society is now available on line at
    http://www.ukifess.salford.ac.uk/conferenceschedule

The conference has attracted over 40 abstracts from leading functional
electrical stimulation (FES) researchers from the UK, Ireland and
further afield. The abstracts cover novel clinical applications of FES,
as well as recent advances in FES technology. The first day of the
conference will include a series of workshops from leading clinicians on
upper limb FES, FES for Multiple Sclerosis and FES in the treatment of
spinal cord injury. In addition, we have 2 excellent keynote speakers -
Margaret Parton will talk on the challenges of moving technology into
the NHS; Dr Shaheen Hamdy will speak on the role of neurostimulation and
neuroplasticity in the rehabilitation of motor dysfunction after stroke.

Online registration for the conference is available at
http://www.ukifess.salford.ac.uk/ and we encourage booking before the
end of February to take advantage of the 'early bird' discount.

We look forward to meeting you in Salford in April!

Laurence Kenney (UKRI-IFESS 2010 Conference Chair) on behalf of the
    Local Organising Committee.
