Department of Physical Therapy
The Department of Physical Therapy in the John G. Rangos Sr. School of
Health Sciences at Duquesne University invites applications for an open 12
month, full-time faculty position. The responsibilities of the position are
to teach within the academic curriculum and produce scholarship that is
commensurate with the expectations of the University and the Commission on
Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The position is a
tenure-track appointment at the assistant or associate professor level.
Salary is commensurate with experience. The program offers the doctor of
physical therapy degree (DPT) and is accredited by CAPTE through 2018.
Primary Responsibilities
* Teaching 2-4 courses per year in the entry-level DPT curriculum.
Content expertise in either Physiology, Orthopedics (with an emphasis on the
spine), Anatomy or Pediatrics is desired.
* Conduct and publish research in an area of the candidate's
expertise.
* Advise and mentor students.
* Perform service at the department, school and university levels.
Qualifications
* Earned or close to completed Ph.D./Ed.D. or other terminal degree.
* Prior teaching experience.
Physical plant resources are state-of-the-art including dedicated faculty
offices, teaching and research facilities. The faculty of the program are
established academicians/
clinicians who work together harmoniously to accomplish the mission of the
department.
