Post doctoral position in the area of biomechanics
The Department of Biomedical Kinesiology of the Catholic University of
Leuven (KULeuven, Belgium) is seeking to appoint a full-time post-doctoral
research fellow with the aim to develop research in the field of
biomechanics, applied to physical activity and health, as well as
performance in sport. Starting date is October 2010. The department
guarantees a grant for 2 years. During this period the department will
support application by the candidate for a further postdoc position granted
by the Flemish Research Council, awaiting the availability of a tenure track
position within a period of maximum 5 years.
At present, the primary objective of our research is to optimize strength
and power production during muscular exercise and training.
We are seeking for a motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher with
qualifications to:
- develop independent innovative research which should result in
excellent scientific output,
- write grant applications to generate the external funding required
to develop and run the research activities,
- teach courses related to biomechanics to students in physical
education and physiotherapy,
- supervise student research projects.
