Challenges in the next century will depend upon the development of technology requiring knowledge of biological systems, medical issues and engineering solutions.
This initial meeting will present a sample of selected problems and the potential for biomedical engineering-based solutions and compelling arguments for the development of academic programs to train the next generation of engineers, biomedical scientists and practitioners for exciting career paths.
