I'm curious what other people think about the utility of EMG collected during clinical gait analysis. While EMG is certainly vital for research applications, our team has recently questioned its value in clinical decision making. For example, inappropriate rectus femoris activity is not always associated with stiff knee gait and vice versa. Increasingly, we're finding that we rely more on kinematics and kinetics than EMG.
