  • Functional Degrees of Freedom of the human body during lifting

    Dear all,

I am looking for any information on Functional Degrees of Freedom (fDoF)
    of the human body.

A fDoF basically means there are multiple muscles acting together as if
they are one (even if not always). In particular I would like to know
more about the relationship between the torques (produced by muscles) in
the hip and torques in the back/spine. Looking at these torques during
lifting it seems the hip and back muscles may together constitute a fDoF.

Several different fDoF have been described, but I could not find much
about this one. Any, even remotely relevant information would be very
    appreciated.

    Regards,

    Stefan Taal
