    ____________

ENGINEERING IN MEDICINE and BIOLOGY conference
    embc2010.embs.org
    deadline extended to April 23
    ____________

    Dear Colleagues,

As you may know, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 31-Sep 4 (http://embc2010.embs.org). For the first time, this flagship conference for Bioengineers will be held in the southern hemisphere, hosting colleagues from around the world.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 23. I am writing because I hope you and fellow colleagues and students are considering participation. This year there will be extra student travel stipends for paper competition finalists, thanks to several generous grants and donations from the US and south american governments. Papers will be peer reviewed, presented in oral and poster sessions and indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE. Already there are a number of invited sessions planned in our shared areas of expertise, including neural engineering, biomechanics, and biorobotics.

For more detailed information please visit the conference website at embc2010.embs.org .
Please keep the extended April 23 deadline in mind (this is a firm deadline). I hope to see you in Buenos Aires.

    Best regards,
    JIM PATTON
