The Institute of Lightweight Design and Structural Biomechanics

in Austria, has an opening for a
Postdoc in Experimental (Bio)mechanics
for a period of two years.
The selected candidate will be involved in research and teaching in the fields of
biomechanics and lightweight design.
He/she will design novel experiments in a state-of-the-art laboratory in micro- and
nanomechanics to test original scientific hypotheses. He/she will gain teaching
experience at the undergraduate or graduate level and advise PhD students in
his/her domain of expertise. He/she will contribute to the experimental validation of
computational models developed at the institute and lead contract research projects.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, engineering
physics, material science, or a closely related field. We are looking for a highly
motivated individual with strong competences in experimental mechanics and
excellent organizational skills with an established interest in interdisciplinary and
team-oriented research.
Knowledge of the German language and European Union citizenship are
advantageous, but not mandatory.
