    A Laboratory Manager position is now available at the Bone Bioengineering
    Labratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Columbia University
    in city of New York. The P.I. is Professor X. Edward Guo.

    Job Description:
    The laboratory manager will be responsible for management of a bone
    bioengineering laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering
    located in the Morningside campus of Columbia University in the City of New
    York. The laboratory's principle research aims are to apply engineering and
    biological principles to study the microstructure and functions of bone at
    both tissue and cellular levels. The laboratory manager will be responsible
    for daily operations of the Bone Bioengineering Lab which includes: handle
    all ordering, inventory, and invoice-related responsibilities; ensure that
    all equipment/software is under contract and proper service; maintain all
    device and equipment; orient new employees in lab; train and supervise the
    using of all device and supplies; ensure all safety courses; establish,
    maintain, and enforce laboratory policies and procedures and ensure
    laboratory compliance; assist other lab members in their research; maintain
    animal and human study protocols; ensure that lab's safe and clean
    environment is maintained; and perform additional related duties and
    projects as assigned and when necessary for the full functioning of the lab.

    Facilities for research include an established laboratory for hard/soft
    tissue mechanics (both theoretical and experimental studies),
    micro-indentation, AFM, cellular imaging, micropatterning of cell networks,
    cell biomechanics, bone cell mechanotransduction, bone explant
    mechanobiology, and bone imaging. Additional information can be found at

    Qualifications:
    M.S. or equivalent in a Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering discipline AND
    at least one-year working experience. Experience in mechanical design,
    fabrication, and machine shop familiarity is essential. Candidate should
    also have demonstrated ability to perform research tasks in both independent
    and cooperative work environments and supervise personnel. Knowledge with
    cell culture is beneficial.

    Candidates are evaluated on research ability and required expertise. Salary
    will be set to a level appropriate for a junior officer at a tier I research
    university and commensurate with relevant experience. The position includes
