    Position: Laboratory Manager
    We currently have an immediate opening for a full time laboratory manager
    to join our research team in a fully equipped Biomechanics research
    laboratory.
    Laboratory Information: The Applied Neuromechanics Research Laboratory at
    the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is dedicated to advancing
    the body of knowledge concerning the prevention, evaluation and treatment
    of movement related injury and disease across the lifespan. Please see

    and faculty. The Applied Neuromechanics Research Laboratory has an
    integrated research program focused around the knee and lower extremity
    biomechanics. The laboratory is comprised of instrumentation and
    computers dedicated to the quantification of human motion. The laboratory
    is equipped with optical and electromagnetic motion analysis systems, AMTI
    and Kistler forceplates, EMG systems, an instrumented dynamometer, joint
    arthrometry and numerous other custom research devices.
    Essential Duties
    ? Provide technical support for the lab by maintaining equipment and
    software.
    ? Oversee technical aspects of quality control and management of
    data.
    ? Assist in managing the workflow of assigned laboratory projects
    including experimental design, testing set-up and piloting, subject
    recruitment, data collection, data reduction and data analysis, generation
    of progress reports, and writing and presentation of data.
    ? Interact appropriately with study participants and lab faculty and
    students.
    ? Design/develop, evaluate, test, or troubleshoot biomechanical
    instrumentation and computer programs, instruct research faculty and
    students in their use.
    ? Contribute to scholarly publications and grant applications
    ? Responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies including
    general lab supplies and project specific supplies
    ? General daily and ongoing maintenance of laboratory, including
    communication with facilities and housekeeping on needed repairs and up
    keep.
    ? Other as assigned by Laboratory faculty.
    Qualifications: Master's degree in biomechanics, biomedical engineering,
    electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline. Must have
    excellent hardware and computer skills and programming skills in Matlab,
    Visual Basic, and/or LabView. Previous experience and exposure to the
    techniques involved in kinematic, kinetic and electromyographic data
    acquisition and analysis is necessary. Strong communication skills are a
    must. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and be
    able to consistently meet deadlines by setting goals and milestones for
    each assigned project.
    Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
