Job Title: Research coordinator
Description: A position for research coordinator is available immediately in
the Laboratory of Soft Tissue Injury post SCI in Northwestern University in
Chicago. The position is intended to support various research projects
ongoing in our lab. The responsibilities of this position and qualifications
include the following:
Responsibilities:
ü Subject recruitment, supervised by the PI. These subjects will
include persons with musculoskeletal disorders, stroke, or spinal cord
injury
ü Participate in all aspects of animal study (rat and minipig)
ü Participate in all aspects of data organization, management, and
upkeep
ü Set up and conduct experiments including subjects’ preparation, data
collection equipment set up, and execution of protocol
ü Instruct, train, supervise, and evaluated students in procedures and
methods
ü Maintain appropriate administrative records
ü Prepare human subject experimental protocols for IRB review
ü Prepare animal experimental protocols for IACUC review
ü Participating team work to work around hours for some intensive
protocols
Qualifications:
ü Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree is a plus, preferably
in biomedical sciences, clinical engineering, and related fields
ü Experience of assisting biomedical research in an academic
environment
ü Experience of managing data
ü Must possess excellent interpersonal and management skills
ü Must have good writing skills
ü Must have specialized skill and experience, or willing to take the
training, in working with patient with musculoskeletal and/or neurological
disorders.
ü Previous experience with animal study (rat, minipig) is highly
preferred, or willing to take the training and working with animals (rat,
minipig).
