  • UK Hand and Wrist Biomechanics Meeting - Registration Open!

    We are pleased to announce the 1st UK Hand and Wrist Biomechanics meeting in

    Southampton, UK on the 16th September 2010.

    This event will bring together researchers in all areas of biomechanics

    whose focus is research specifically looking at the hand and wrist. Topics

    represented will include computational modelling, kinematic measurement,

    sensory motor interaction and assessment of clinical interventions. The

    emphasis will be on clinical biomechanics, as well as the physiological and

    cognitive mechanisms underlying hand function.

    The aim of this meeting will be to bring together hand and wrist

    biomechanists working in the UK and will be supported by three key centres:

    The School of Health Sciences - University of Southampton;

    The School of Health and Social Care - Glasgow Caledonian University;

    The Bioengineering Research Group - Newcastle University.

    The first meeting will be hosted by the Rehabilitation & Health Technologies

    Group in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton, and

    supported by the University Strategic Research Group in Health Technologies

    Registration is free and is now open! Please send you contact details to Elaine McCourt to register at:

    Four travel bursaries of up to 100 are available for students to attend.

    Please email me if you would like to apply for these. Only one bursary will

    be allocated per institution. If you would like to apply for a bursary, please send up to 1 page A4 describing your background, your current research and what you hope to achieve by attending the meeting.

    Please use the link below to find out more information and we hope to see

    you there!
