Full Professor in Kinesiology
The Department of Health and Kinesiology at Georgia Southern University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Professor. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Biomechanics or Exercise Physiology;provide mentorship to department faculty in the areas of scholarship and grant writing; secure external grant funding; provide thesis advisement to graduate students; promote and sustain interdisciplinary dialogue and service; hold membership in professional associations/organizations; and serve on committees and participate in official activities at the departmental, college, and university levels. Teaching load will be conducive to scholarly productivity. The position is a 9-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A start-up package is available.
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in Kinesiology or closely related area; have a proven record of productive scholarship including external funding, publications, and presentations in professional venues; and a minimum of 5 years of college/university teaching experience in either Biomechanics or Exercise Physiology at the Associate Professor Level. Preference will be given to applicants with research emphasis in areas of NIH, CDC, and/or NSF funding interest.
