Applications are invited for two graduate research assistantships for
students interested in pursuing Master’s or Ph.D. degrees in Mechatronic
Systems Engineering.
Research Area
Projects are focused on modeling and simulation of the spine, spinal cord
and injury. The laboratory specializes in computational models and
mechanical characterization of tissue properties for use in these
computational models. There are currently two funded research projects
exploring the effect of scale on spinal cord injury and modeling the
thermodynamics of hypothermic treatments of spinal cord injury. Students who
wish to propose their own research questions within this area may also be
considered (and if accepted, will be funded).
Applicants for the Master’s program should have a Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical or Bio Engineering. Applicants for the Ph.D. program should have
completed a Master’s degree.
The start date may be Spring or Fall 2011.
