Post-doctoral Fellowship in Neuromuscular Gait and Orthoses Research at
the Kessler Foundation Research Center
The Kessler Foundation Research Center (West Orange, New Jersey) is
recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research in gait and
orthotic interventions in adults with hemiplegia secondary to stroke.
This fellowship is funded by an Advanced Rehabilitation Research
Training (ARRT) grant from the National Institute on Disability and
Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). The position is open and applications
are being accepted until it is filled. This fellowship is expected to
last for a two year term.
Qualifying candidates must have an earned doctorate in engineering
(e.g. biomedical, rehabilitation, mechanical), biomechanics,
kinesiology, or a related field. Strong candidates will have prior
experience in performing research studies in human subjects, as well as
some history of publication and presentation of original research.
Additional desirable skills and experience include: experience with with
motion analysis, EMG, the ability to independently develop processing
methods for data analysis (using for example Matlab or Labview),
knowledge of statistical data analysis, and excellent written
communication skills.

post-doctoral fellows at the Medical School. Fellows may also be
recommended for an academic appointment at the rank of Instructor.
