    We wish to bring your attention to the following two meetings which are based on Imaging and Simulation in Biomedical and Clinical Applications which will take place back to back on 11th and 12th on November 2010 at the Cardiff Medicentre, Cardiff.

    Simpleware and the University of Cardiff are organising a half-day workshop on Image-based Simulation for Biomechanics,Materials Applications, and Reverse Engineering. The workshop is aimed at those interested in 3D reconstruction from radiology images, and in using 3D image data (as obtained from ct, Microct,mri and Ultrasound) to generate Rapid Prototyping, cad,and Finite Element models.

    14:00 – 14:30 Dr. Rebecca Bryan, Simpleware Ltd.:Meshing from 3D image data: from materials characterisation to medical implant simulation
    14:30 – 15:15 Demonstration of ScanIP, +ScanFE and +ScanCAD:New features from recent release
    15:15 – 15:30 Coffee Break
    15:30 – 17:00 Hands-on Tutorial: Participants can follow different software tutorials, and also install a trial of our software on their laptop for working on their own image data after the workshop.

    The purpose of this one day meeting is bring together the many researchers, clinicians and organisations
    working in 3D imaging applied to orthodontics and related disciplines.

    It is considered timely that such a meeting is organised to allow interested groups to share, exchange knowledge, network and develop new research collaborations. The meeting will also provide to opportunity for users to present their work and discuss research advances and outcomes in 3D imaging.
