Two Faculty Positions in Exercise Science

The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management at the
University of Mississippi invites applications for two full-time (9-month),
tenure track faculty positions in Exercise Science at the
Assistant/Associate Professor level. Individuals with training and
experience in basic, applied, clinical, or translational exercise science
are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications: Qualified applicants should possess (1) an earned doctorate
in Exercise Science or a related field as of contract start date, (2)
teaching ability and experience in higher education, (3) an established
record of scholarship, and (4) potential to obtain external funding for
scholarly activities. Post doctoral training is encouraged.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities of these positions include teaching
undergraduate and graduate classes in area of expertise, publishing research
in area of specialization, pursuing external funding, developing resources
to provide on-going support for research activities, contributing to
interdisciplinary research collaborations, advising undergraduate and
graduate majors, and serving on departmental and university committees.
Areas of expertise include but are not limited to the following: exercise
biochemistry, muscle physiology, resistive exercise, strength and
conditioning, cellular/molecular mechanisms associated with exercise and
models of obesity, exercise behavior, endocrinology, aging, epidemiology,
and biostatistics.

Program: The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation
Management offers a B.S. and M.S. in Exercise Science, a B.A. and M.A. in
Park and Recreation Management, a M.S. in Health Promotion, and a Ph.D. in
Health & Kinesiology with two areas of emphasis: (1) Exercise Science and
(2) Health Behavior and Promotion. The Department houses laboratories in
Applied Physiology, Biochemistry, Applied Biomechanics and Ergonomics, Bone
Mineral Density & Body Composition, and Cognitive Neurophysiology. Detailed
