The Institute of Lightweight Design and Structural Biomechanics (ILSB) of the Vienna University of Technology is looking for a doctoral student in experimental biomechanics for a duration of 4 years, starting as soon as possible.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree, an Engineering Diploma or an equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in tissue biomechanics as well as project-related experience in a biomechanics laboratory are advantageous. Specific knowledge of german and EU citizenship are helpful but not mandatory.
The selected candidate will be involved in research and teaching in biomechanics. He/she will design novel experiments in a state-of-the-art laboratory in micro- and nanomechanics to test original scientific hypotheses. He/she will supervise undergraduate students in his/her domain of expertise. He/she will contribute to the experimental validation of computational models developed at the institute and participate to contract research projects.
