Postgraduate Research Participation Program in Biomechanics

Applications are being accepted for a postgraduate research
participation program appointment with the Biomechanics Team at the U.S.
Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center
(NSRDEC), located in Natick, MA. With head supported mass an important
area of research at Natick, the appointment includes, but is not limited
to, the following: Participate in focused data collection of mass
property measurements of head-borne equipment following routine and
required procedures and participate in the formation of a technical
report that informs on the data collection methodology and formulate
database presentation of results into report: Participate in the
development of a literature review to identify key gaps in head
supported mass research as it relates to head and neck biomechanics
issues: Research existing literature for relevant models; coordinate
integration of collected mass properties data with literature review
findings; and participate in recommendations for creative solutions to
head supported mass issues: Participate in enthusiastic and
mission-driven team environment towards the execution, collection,
processing, and analysis of applied biomechanics research. NSRDEC has
the dedicated mission to maximize the warrior's survivability,
sustainability, mobility, combat effectiveness and quality of life by
treating the Soldier as a System.

The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for up to a
