in vitro testing of tendons

I would like to find some information on the effect of freezing
tendon ends, prior to in vitro tensile testing, on the measurement
of tendon strain. I have performed numerous literature searches but
can only find information describing the technique. I am working
with tendons of large cross-sectional diameter (equine flexor
tendons).
