I am in the process of searching the literature for controlled studies
of rehabilitation methods following hip fracture and/or hip and knee
joint replacement.
I am very surprised by the paucity of citations in the literature
after running MEDLINE searches under topics such as "hip fracture
rehabilitation, hip replacement rehabilitation, physical therapy,
physiotherapy, and elderly - exercises for".
Most of the studies that I have located deal with either socio-
economic consequences, surgical treatment, or predicting the
outcome of rehabilitation. If you know where I might be able to
locate information about studies of the efficacy of different hip
fracture/replacement rehabilitation approaches, please respond.
Thank you,
