CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Dear Colleague: December 15, 1994
The Steering Committee would like to take this opportunity to
invite you to submit an abstract and to attend the Second
Triennial International Hand and Wrist Biomechanics Symposium. The
first meeting of the Symposium was held in May, 1992, in Brussels and
attracted a large and international participation. In order to
encourage similar international participation, this meeting is being
held in San Francisco in conjunction with the 1995 American Society for
Surgery of the Hand annual meeting. The official language of the
Symposium will be English; no translation services will be provided.
There will be a limit of 100 participants to allow close interaction
between attendees.
The Symposium is joint-sponsored by the Mayo Clinic and by the
American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand, which is a branch
of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Keynote speakers
include Dr. Ron Linscheid and Dr. Johan Landsmeer. There will be six
other invited talks from some of the world's foremost researchers in
hand and wrist biomechanics.
Forty-eight abstracts will be accepted for presentation,
covering both hand and wrist topics. Abstracts can be on any
aspect, either clinical or basic science, that relates to the
biomechanics of the hand and wrist. Abstracts are due by February 1,
1995. Notification of accepted abstracts will be sent by March 15,
1995. All authors of accepted abstracts will be requested to submit a
two-page synopsis of their paper. These will be printed in the final
meeting brochure.
THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF ABSTRACTS IS FEBRUARY 1, 1995.
